UAE-Joining the Madrid System
United Arab Emirates has become a member of the Madrid System, and it is the 3rd country in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) after Oman & Bahrain. The mechanisms are yet to be announced by the local authority.
The Madrid System is a cost-effective solution to apply for protection fees in up to 125 countries , and it will be officially effective in the United Arab Emirates as of December 28, 202, which by then allows brand owners to register and manage their trademarks under one application and one set of fees.
