SAIP and KIPO Signs an Advanced Strategic Partnership in the field of intellectual property
The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property has signed an Advanced Strategic Partnership with the Korean Intellectual Property Office with the aim of enhancing the important role of intellectual property in developing the economy and promoting innovation and technical transformation, which contributes to strengthening the relationship of cooperation based on the exchange of knowledge and technology.
This was within the work of the Saudi-Korean Investment Forum, in the presence of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Moon Jae-in, and a number of Their Highnesses and Excellencies the Ministers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Korea, and was signed by His Excellency the CEO of SAIP, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Swailem, and the Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office, Dr. Kim Yongrae.
The Advanced Strategic Partnership aims to develop the bilateral partnership in the field of intellectual property through the implementation of bilateral cooperation activities and programs within 5 areas (Development of the IP Environment, Patent Examination, National IP Strategy, IP Academy, IP Information).
It is worth noting that the Advanced Strategic Partnership comes as an extension of the strategic partnership between the two sides, as the first memorandum of understanding was signed in 2018.
