KSA-Intellectual Property Respect Council holds its sixth meeting with the software and information technology sector

The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, in cooperation with its partners in the Digital Government Authority and Expenditure and Projects Efficiency Authority, held the Sixth Intellectual Property Respect Council meeting, which aims to enhance transparency between the private sector and the government sector, and coordinate efforts to raise the compliance level to the IP laws and regulations.

The Council was opened by introducing the initiative of the IP Respect Council and express the importance of intellectual property protection as an essential component of national economic policies. During the meeting, both parties agreed to build a comprehensive plan for raising awareness of intellectual property in the software and information technology sector, in cooperation between SAIP and representatives of the private, and to establish a work team from SAIP and relevant entities to provide the necessary support to face the obstacles and challenges facing the sector. The participants also agreed to cooperate with the IP Academy to establish a curriculum for IP respect officers who will help measuring the compliance within their entities and to avoid intellectual property violations.
