    About Qatar

    Qatar is an Arab country located in the east of the Arabian Peninsula in southwestern Asia, bordering the Arabian Gulf, and its capital is Doha. Before the discovery of oil, the economy of the Qatari region focused on fishing and pearling, then oil was discovered in Qatar in 1940 in the Dukhan field, and around this discovery the country’s economy, now the country enjoys a high standard of living for its legal citizens. With no income tax, Qatar is one of the countries with the lowest tax rates in the world.

      Filing Trademark/Service Mark Application

      • A power of attorney, duly legalized up to the Qatari consulate.
      • A copy of an extract from the commercial register or articles of incorporation or any
        equivalent document.
      • In case of claiming priority, a certified copy of the corresponding home or foreign application
        of the trademark.

      Trademark Assignment

      • A power of attorney, from the assignee, notarized and legalized up to the Qatari consulate.
      • A deed of assignment, signed by the assignor and the assignee, notarized and legalized up
        to the Qatari consulate.
      • A copy of an extract from the commercial Register or certificate of incorporation of the
        assignee.

      Recordal of Change of Name or Address

      • A power of attorney reflecting the new name and/or address, duly legalized up to the Qatari
        consulate.
      • A certificate of change of name and/or address , duly legalized up to the Qatari consulate.

      Recordal of License Agreement

      • A power of attorney from the licensee, duly legalized up to the Qatari consulate.
      • A copy of the license agreement, duly legalized up to the Qatari consulate.
      • A copy of an extract from the commercial register or certificate of incorporation of the licensee.

      Recordal of Merger

      Filing for a Compulsory License

      • A power of attorney from the licensee, duly legalized up to the Qatari consulate.

      • A copy of an extract from the commercial register or certificate of incorporation of the
        licensee.

      Filing a Design Application

      • Particulars of the owner such as name, address, nationality and nature of business.
      • The title and drawings of the design, supported by brief descriptions.
      • Particulars of corresponding foreign registration( s), if any.

      Filing a Copyright Application

      • A power of attorney, duly legalized up to the Qatari consulate.
      • Particulars of the author (s).
      • A certified copy of the home or any foreign registration of the copyright.
      • Five copies of the work.
      • A declaration that the applicant is the author of the work.

      Filing a Domain Name Application

      • A letter requesting the domain name registration (on official company letterhead) stamped
        and signed by the authorized person.
      • Copy of the authorized person valid QID.
      • Copy of commercial registration.
